Prostate-specific Antigen (PSA) Blood Test

An abnormally high level of Prostate-specific Antigen (PSA) in the blood means that prostate cancer is a possibility. But a high PSA score does not always indicate cancer; it can be caused by other prostate diseases such as benign prostatic hypertrophy (BPH) or prostatitis (inflamed prostate). A man's PSA score usually increases slowly as he ages, as well.

If your PSA test result is not normal, talk to your doctor about your cancer risk and the possible need for further tests.
